Counselling Women
Are you seeking support in building self-esteem, confidence and trust in yourself? I help you to discover options for change and movement in your life. Though my focus lies in counselling women, I welcome people with other gender identities who think I might be the right counsellor for them. With therapy you can find your voice, develop your courage and gain a sense of inner safety.
Maybe you just want to talk to somebody who listens, to clear your mind. You might find it difficult to define what made you seek counselling. Perhaps a sense of emptiness, isolation or feeling that you can make more of your life. We can figure this out together.
Therapy is a confidential space in which you can bring anything that is on your mind. I will follow your lead. Your experience might be that you are your own harshest critic, feeling never good enough. Maybe you suffer from anxiety and depression. Perhaps you feel that your upbringing has told you to stop making a fuss, giving you the message that your voice and your opinion do not matter. My aim is to foster empowerment, to help you to identify your potential and courage. I want to give you a place to tell your story.
Mary Beard says in her book Women & Power “When it comes to silencing women, Western culture has had thousands of years of practice.” As have many other cultures that form modern British society.
Through experiencing and developing your voice in counselling, being understood in a warm and accepting environment, you can find and grow your inner strength. Reclaiming your life’s experiences and gaining trust in yourself is very empowering.
